Much cooler temps forecasted for the weekend. The first of our snowplow trucks are in the shop getting the salt spreader and plow reinstalled. We are getting ready for Winter!
We remain in Phase 3 of the re-opening plan. A link to the Phase 3 guidance and recent Executive Orders can be found here: https://www.virginia.gov/coronavirus/
Owners are reminded to use caution, wear face coverings, social distance and wash hands frequently.
Weather permitting, we will be replacing a culvert pipe at the intersection of Wintergreen Drive and Hickory Nut just below Fire Station 1 on the Mountain. We also have shoulder stone on our list for sections of Wintergreen Drive, Devils Knob Loop, and Blue Ridge Drive.
In the next couple of weeks, contractors should begin making improvements to some of the walking/hiking trails located on the mountain and in the valley. The first round of improvements will focus on the walking path connecting Tyro Lane with Squirrel Tree and the wooded path that connects from the end of Sawmill at the Trout Pond with the Allen Creek Nature Preserve. We have other areas on our to-do list, however, these two spots are first on the list.
Mullins Markings is expected to return in the coming week to complete crosswalks, cart crossings, and directional arrows. Please follow road work related signage and use caution.
Acorns are beginning to fall, providing a new food source for our bear friends. While bear activity is still high, acorns are providing much needed relief. Please lock doors, secure trash, etc.
The annual meeting mailing is on the way. You can view the mailing here https://www.wtgpoa.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2020-Annual-Mailing-New-1.pdf as well. As we get closer to the actual meeting date, we will share additional details on how to watch the presentations via live stream, etc.
