Property owners maintain casual libraries
in the valley and on the mountain

The mountain library in Trillum House

The mountain library opened in March 2022. It is stocked with both hardback and paperback books as well as audiobooks and games donated by property owners.. No puzzles, please.

To contribute books or CDs to the library, simply leave them in the space provided for returns so they can be filed on the shelves properly.

The mountain library is managed by volunteers led by Jo Ann Armstrong. Questions? Email pharmsj@icloud.com.

WPOA’s small library for property owners is on top of Wintergreen mountain in the Nature Foundation at Wintergreen’s Trillium House [map]. You’ll find it on the second door right after you enter the lobby.

This community amenity is maintained by volunteers. Its inventory comes from contributions from the Wintergreen community (Not tax-deductible). There are hardbound and paperback books, books on CD, and a few children’s books as well. The books are sorted on the shelves as fiction (by author), non-fiction (sorted by cookbooks, humor, poetry, political, sports, history, etc.), short stories, biographies.

The library is open when the Nature Foundation at Wintergreen is open, typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9 am to 4:30 pm; Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm; Fridays and Saturdays 9 am to 4:30 pm. (Closed Sundays and Mondays.) Call the Nature Foundation at 434-325-8169 if you're unsure of the hours because of weather or special events.

There is no checking in and out of books, etc. Everything is on the honor system. Keep books and audiobooks as long as reasonable; return them when you are done. If you have finished a great book donating it so others may enjoy it will be appreciated. (The volunteer managers reserve the right to donate elsewhere or discard any items they deem to be inappropriate or unwanted.)

There is a table labeled for contributions and returned books located within the library. Please do not donate books in poor condition or CDs that do not work. Please do not leave books at the front desk or by the front door. Donations are welcome during normal business hours within the library space.
