While the construction would have been huge hassle for most every property owner involved along the 600-mile ACP, Wintergreen’s experience would have been extraordinary.

For one, the horizontal directional drilling at Wintergreen’s mountain entryway to create a tunnel for the ACP underneath the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail would have gone on for 24-hours-a-day for a year.

“I’m not going to pretend it’s not going to be messy and disruptive for the people at Wintergreen. It's going to be uncomfortable. You're going to know we are there. It's not going to be subtle,” Ron Baker, Virginia ACP project manager, told the resort community on May 1, 2018.
