The Wintergreen Property Owners Association, Inc., is part of almost everything at Wintergreen. Everyone at Wintergreen relies on some part of WPOA’s operations and services.
WPOA is composed of all the owners of all properties at Wintergreen, including Wintergreen Resort, an independent enterprise. The majority of the association's board of directors are elected by the members in an annual process. The vast majority of WPOA’s income derives from assessments, set by the board, required each year from all Wintergreen property owners.
Besides an Architectural Review Board, WPOA maintains and manages the Tuckahoe Clubhouse, 53 miles of roads, two pavilions, two swimming pools, numerous parks, 11 lakes, a trout stream, and five overlooks. WPOA is responsible for almost all of Wintergreen's open spaces in Stoney Creek and on Wintergreen Mountain. It operates the Wintergreen Police Department and oversees the career staff of the volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. The executive director of the Wintergreen Property Owners Association is Jay Roberts.
