mountain Mailboxes- currently none available

Mail delivery (USPS) is available to property owners who live on the mountain. Owner mail boxes are in the Wintergarden parking lot near the trash & recycling containers.

Mail boxes may be applied for by calling 434-325-8524. An initial starting fee includes a $45.00 usage fee for the first year(pro-rated by month), a $20.00 key deposit, and a $5.00 administrative fee for small mailboxes. The larger mailboxes are $125.00 a year (pro-rated by month).

The yearly rate will be billed out each year on April 1st and are due May 1st. This fee will cover the current calendar year.

If/when you should close your box, if both keys are returned to the WPOA office, and a forwarding address is provided to WPOA, you will be mailed a check back for your key deposit of $20.00

Mountain Mail boxes are serviced by the WPOA Staff (M-F 9-5) with mail delivery coming from the Roseland, VA 22967 Post Office. You must have a box rented to receive mail on the mountain.   Deliveries that are guaranteed to be made by UPS or FedEx (not Post Office) need to use their 911 address and Roseland, VA 22967 as the city.  (FedEx packages dropped at the Post Office for delivery are undeliverable without a rental box address).

Stoney Creek is serviced by rural delivery from the Post Office in Nellysford, VA 22958. Owners need to have an approved mail box with their 911 mailing address posted on the box at their driveway and complete an application at the Nellysford Post Office.

The Nellysford Post Office is located on Rockfish Valley Highway in Nellysford (next to Fisher Auto Parts) if you would prefer a postal box instead. they are located at 2663 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, Va. 22958

decals & owner/guest pool passes

Your vehicle decal number remains the same as long as you own property here at Wintergreen. All replacement decals will be $5.00 each and can be picked up Monday through Friday at the Community Offices building across from the Police Department between 9am-5pm.

Each owner and their guest will need a WPOA pool pass upon entry to the Chestnut Springs Pool and Rodes Farm Pool. You should receive two “Owner passes” and one “Guest Pass” when purchasing property here at Wintergreen from our office. (Please note that a maximum of 6 guest are allowed per guest pass). These are permanent for as long as you own the property. If a replacement is needed, there is a $5.00 fee.

Trash and Recycling

Nelson County Provides 2 residential garbage compactors on Wintergreen Mountain

  1. Wintergarden Parking Lot just off Wintergreen Drive. NO construction materials or commercial business waste allowed.
  2. Blackrock Drive on the left leaving Blackrock Market and following Blackrock Drive approximately 1/3 mile from Wintergreen Drive. NO construction materials or commercial business waste allowed.

Nelson County provides 1 mixed paper recycling container at the Wintergarden Compactor Site

Per Nelson County – Cardboard is not allowed in the mixed paper container.  Please take cardboard to the Rockfish Recycling Center or dispose of it in the regular household waste compactor.

Stoney Creek Residents use the Rockfish Compactor/Recycling Center

136 Rockfish School Road Afton, VA 22920 434-361-2301 (see http://www.nelsoncounty-va.gov/residents/solid-wasterecycling/ website for facility hours) NO Construction type waste is allowed. The facility is a left turn off Rt. 151 N just past Rt. 6 East, Lions Field on corner and Rockfish Community Center just past site. Enter the site from the rear.

ALL CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS must be taken to the Nelson County Landfill located on: 972 Morse Lane Arrington, VA 22922 Transfer Station 434-263-7097 (see http://www.nelsoncounty-va.gov/residents/solid-wasterecycling/ website for facility hours) This is 7 miles South of Lovingston on Rt. 29, you will need to turn left and switch-back to Morse Lane on the North side and turn right.
