New Long Pond Path

The most recent addition to the Stoney Creek walking path network was completed on June 7th. The new path starts at the end of Deer Run (see map below) leading to Long Pond and runs along the water’s edge to connect to the pond’s long-standing fishing access at Rodes Valley Drive.

“Some are calling our new walking path on Long Pond a little park,” says Wintergreen Property Owners Association Executive Director Jay Roberts. “We’ve added a picnic table and a bench on the water’s edge to make it even more inviting. The view across the water to Crawford Knob is great. And, of course, we now offer more access for those fishing on Long Pond.

This short path is similar in style and construction to what was done last year to create WPOA’s Stoney Creek Park. The work was again done by Creation Appreciation.

The additional pathway provides the neighborhood around Rodes Valley Drive with a connection to the Stoney Creek walking path network.

The new Long Pond Path, the orange line above, begins at the end of Deer Run. [See on Google Maps] From here the new path connects to the grass pathway (in white) on top of the Long Pond’s dam that leads to Rodes Valley Drive. This spring WPOA paved the path across Trout Pond along with the trail that lead to the backside of Allen Creek Park (in green).
