is one of the most popular spots in Wintergreen
Two exhibits have been added to the platform at Founders Vision Overlook. This is part of the renovation of the entire overlook that was started last year by the Wintergreen Property Owners Association.
“More than any other single place here, Founders Vision Overlook captures the essence of Wintergreen,” says Wintergreen Property Owners Association Executive Director Jay Roberts.
“With awe-inspiring views, complimented by quiet structures and native landscaping, visitors to this overlook are struck by how extraordinary Wintergreen is. These two exhibits were designed to complement the experience.”
“Both of these exhibits have actionable QR codes, taking advantage of how everyone now has a smartphone in their pocket. I expect no one will read what these exhibits have to say and ask “So what?”
A third exhibit is coming soon, positioned in front of the view of the ski slopes and highlighting the lodging, shopping, dining, golf, and more offered at Wintergreen Resort.
This exhibit builds on the popular Hike Wintergreen pages on the WPOA website. Those scanning the hiking QR code will see a page links on their smartphone that looks exactly like what is in front of them.
The yellow box sidebar provides visitors with a few basic facts about Wintergreen with a QR code that points to the Nature Foundation at Wintergreen’s website. The QR codes are programable, so where they go can be edited.
There is a lot going on in this exhibit. It answers some basic questions about the view they see, explains that they are surrounded by flora and fauna, and tells how this community has remained committed to preserving nature. The captioned wildlife photos were selected to capture the imagination of young children and their parents.
Those looking for more are invited to visit WPOA’s page of calendars of events. There is also a link to Wintergreen’s Bear Smart information.
