Wintergreen Fire and Rescue Chief Curtis Sheets testified before the Federal Lands Subcommittee of the Natural Resources Committee in the United States Congress, asking for support for the "Wintergreen Egress Act" which would direct the National Park Service to approve an emergency egress route for the Wintergreen community onto the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Wintergreen Fire Department sells and installs Knox Box key boxes for both residential and commercial properties at Wintergreen. With a Knox Box installed the Fire Department can gain access to the property without having to cause damage through forcible entry. Once installed, keys and alarm codes to the property are placed inside the UL-tested secure enclosure, with only Wintergreen Fire Department having access to the keys. Learn more here

WPOA’s pools at Chestnut Springs on the mountain and Rodes Farm in the valley operate from the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
Owners and accompanied guests may use the pool from 10 am until 8 pm daily. Unaccompanied guests of property owners may use the pool from 2 pm until 8 pm daily.

The high-intensity winter storm forecasted to start on Sunday night is expected to drop an inch of snow an hour for multiple hours across many areas of the commonwealth, particularly north of Interstate 64, which will significantly impact roadways. South of I-64, a mixture of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain will fall, which will likely coat roads since the temperatures have remained low for several days. Motorists are encouraged to remain vigilant and minimize travel to the extent possible.
