One of the shortest trails on the mountain (it is an access trail to the Blackrock and Brimstone Trails), the Blackrock Plunge is an excellent introduction to the area's beauty and natural history.
Hikers will find a steep climb around rock formations formed millions of years ago (called pedlar gneiss). The Plunge hike offers an incredible overlook and a family picture spot at both the top (Blackrock Park) and the bottom of the trail.
The trail is well maintained, with ropes and stairs for some parts as well as fun rock scrambles.
