Access to the trail is from a 0.5 mile hike on the Grassy Ridge Road (driving is not permitted on the road). The trail also joins the Cedar Cliff South trail.
The Hemlock Trail is the only area here that provides habitat for both pink and yellow lady slippers.
Note: The previous loop portion of the trail is closed and no longer maintained. The old forest hemlocks on the loop trail have been devastated by the hemlock woolly adelgid. Use caution in the winter.
