Allen Creek Nature Preserve features a trail through a wetland that include long wooden walkways and short bridges. Note, however, that much of the trail is also laced with large roots and low spots. This makes for uneven footing an, during rainy spells, the path can turn very wet in places.
The small preserve in the middle of Wintergreen’s Stoney Creek subdivision is connected to the community’s walking path network. It is enjoyed by nature enthusiasts who find a large, long-standing community of diverse plants, birds, and amphibians such as frogs and salamanders. There is a picnic table next to the creek about 500 yards from the main entryway.
