Access to the trail is from a 0.5 mile hike on the Grassy Ridge Road (driving is not permitted on the road). The trail also joins the Cedar Cliff South Trail and Pedlars Edge Trail.
The Hemlock Springs Trail is the only area here that provides habitat for both pink and yellow lady slippers. The trail runs next to Hemlock Springs, and is a beautiful woodland hike.
Note: The previous loop portion of the trail is closed and no longer maintained. The old forest hemlocks on the loop trail have been devastated by the hemlock woolly adelgid. Use caution in the winter.
Longer Loop Hike: Cedar Cliff/Hemlock Springs Loop is a 2.4-mile loop hike follows the Cedar Cliff Main trail to the Cedar Cliff overlook. The trail continues on the Cedar Cliff South trail to the Hemlock Spring trail. Details.
