Brimstone Trail can be accessed from the Three Ridges Overlook Access Trail. It also ties into the Blackrock Trail and the Blackrock Plunge Trail.
Brimstone Trail consists of a series of steep and rocky, short up-and-down sections. Hikers are rewarded with incredible views of Three Ridges Mountain and points to the southwest.
This trail meanders below the Blackrock Plunge Trail. Mountain laurel and rhododendron cover these dry-soiled slopes, along with chestnut oaks. These thickets are interrupted by rock gardens where rock cap fern and fly poison lily grow.
Use caution in winter.
