The Highlands Trail is a connecting trail between the resort’s Mountain Inn/Blackrock Village and the Wintergarden’s spa, gym, and pools at the top of the mountain.
This trail provides visitors with quick access to older-growth forests without requiring a long hike. (The word “leisure” was removed from the trail's name; in places it can be as steep and rocky as any moderate mountain trail.)
Near the high end of the trail there is an overlook platform with views of the Highlands ski slopes, Crawfords Knob, and Humpback Mountain.
