The Plunge is an excellent introduction to the beauty and natural history of the area. he hikers will find a steep climb around rock formations that were created millions of years ago.
The Cedar Cliff North trail is boulder strewn and provides a beautifully scenic walk. The trail is somewhat difficult but well worth the effort and is connected to the Cedar Cliffs Main Trail and overlook.
The trail begins at the Devils Knob Overlook and connects to the White Oak trail and the Pond Hollow trail. Bird watching and views of Pond Hollow and Fortunes Ridge are the treats of this rocky-footed hike.
The Highland Leisure trail provides hikers with quick access to older-growth forests without taking them on a long hike, although in places it can be as steep and rocky as any of the moderate mountain trails.
